Alfredo Zitarrosa. Music Maestro!

This month in which Maria Jesús del blog Paradela Coles called on us to dedicate to music, I remember a big:
Alfredo Zitarrosa

Today 17 January, 22 years since the death of Alfredo Zitarrosa, who was born on March 10, 1936 in Montevideo. Was a singer, songwriter, poet, writer and journalist in Uruguay.
Because his political his song was banned in Uruguay since 1973. Convinced that his song would only be useful to the cause of the people from the outside, was exiled first in Argentina (until it was banned by the military dictatorship) then in Spain and Mexico.
participated actively in various international festivals, as a champion of the struggle for freedom of the Uruguayan people and other oppressed nations.
When lifted its ban in Argentina in 1983, lived in Buenos Aires before returning to Uruguay on March 31, 1984. Was greeted by a crowd that cheered and escorted him from the airport around Montevideo, in a circumstance that was defined by him as the most important experience of his life.
died at age 52, and became indispensable reference for his contemporaries and succeeding generations of musicians and other folk artists, valued for their artistic work and respected by the defense of their ideals and their militant attitude.

This is my tribute to one of the musicians that I remember with emotion because I accompanied with songs and reinforced with them many times in my life.
